In August of 2019 the Muskegon Risers women’s outdoor team and Muskegon Community College women’s team played for the first time. The game was a fun, entertaining, and quality showcase of women’s soccer along the MKG lakeshore. On February 15, 2020 the two sides are set for a “rematch”, only this time it will be of the arena soccer variety!
“This is our 8th year as a program.” stated MCC Women’s head coach, Jeff Lohman, “We’ve qualified for the Region 12 tournament each of the past 4 years. In 2019 we are currently in first place in Region 12 and expect to make a long run in the tournament.”
In regards to the Muskegon Community College Women’s team playing arena soccer for the first time, Coach Lohman added “We are looking forward to being a part of the continued growth of soccer for women in the Muskegon area. The opportunity also allows our team to stay fresh with their technical skills during the offseason.”
The night will also be headlined as “College Night presented by Muskegon Community College” and fans will be encouraged to wear their favorite college swag during the event!
